Spring as Sweet as Tea 

Spring has definitely hit here in Arizona. With our early 80 degree weather and practically no winter (except for that weird day of random snow?!), Arizona is back to warming up again. This is such a great time though because let’s be real, that 80 degree sweet spot feels amazing! It’s when it starts to get above that 95 mark when we really start to dread the heat we know is coming. I know I personally dream of more pool days again. When it comes to family portraits, this is the literal perfect time to get the kids together and snap a family moment in time! 

 

 

Gorgeous Arizona Landscapes

Everyone is taking their activities to the outdoors right now and we are on the exact same wave. Spring family photos are some of our favorite types of portrait sessions! Pastels, florals, and fresh air. There are so many gorgeous views around Phoenix that we love to visit for Spring family photos. First, the Lost Dutchman State Park is an all-time favorite! Mornings here are filled with native plant blooms, birds, little animal friends, and gorgeous geologic structures like the Superstition Mountains. We love this location because not only are there perfect backdrops but there is so much to learn and interact with! There is never a dull moment at Lost Dutchman State Park! After your session, take the family to Goldfield Ghost Town for lunch! 

 

 

Fun and Exciting Arizona Family Portraits 

Right next to the botanical gardens is another favorite location, Papago Park. Papago Park is home to hole in the rock as well as various bodies of water and perfect desert mountain landscape backdrops. A short climb up to hole in the rock will reveal a great view of Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe! Similarly, this awesome family’s session was in North Scottsdale, up in the beautiful boulders. Jodi Lynn has been photographing this glowing mama since before she was even pregnant with her littles! She loves that she has gotten to see them grow and work with this family for so long now. That is what this business is all about, getting to know these sweet families and watch their tribe grow.

Finally, spring leads to summer and where do many Arizonans flee too but to the beaches of California? We are so excited to announce that we will be offering for the FIRST TIME EVER – summer beach photoshoot sessions in San Diego, California on June 4th-7th! Want to catch your family in the ocean? Our Bump to One is the ultimate package featuring 2 full sessions, 3 mini indoor sessions, full hair and makeup service, and is wonderful for capturing your baby’s entire year! All of these sessions are also perfect for including siblings.Sitter sessions are great to highlight your baby’s personality, and we can easily add on siblings or the rest of the family! This is a really sweet way to bond as a family.  Especially with multiple sessions like the Bump to One, you get to really see the bond siblings share overtime. It is a great way to capture times where they aren’t fighting over toys or the remote.

In last month’s blog we chatted all about maternity & the magic of bringing new life into the world. Now, the beauty of new life, your newborn baby, is here and we know you’re feeling all the feels! You’ll want to capture these precious moments with your little one as soon as possible so you can carry the memories of them being this small with you forever.

Scheduling is Key!

With Photography by Jodi Lynn, newborn shoots are scheduled 3-10 for days after your baby is born.This way we can freeze these sweet & fragile days in time! To reflect this time in your family’s life, we invite the whole family to come along so we may capture all of your love for each other. This is definitely a family affair!

We are Here for You!

It’s best to schedule your shoot during your pregnancy, a few months before baby is due. We book your appointment when you are 30 weeks pregnant. Of course, some babies come earlier or later than scheduled in which case we are totally flexible for you, mama! What we’ll do is go ahead and schedule two possible dates for your shoot so we’re prepared. 

When you’re planning your newborn shoot, pick out clothing & accessories that reflect who you are and what kind of feeling you want your pictures to have. We know you want this to look special so move away from your everyday wear and consider softer colors such as whites, ivorys, soft grey, blush, and light blue. If choosing pieces and getting all done up by yourself stresses you out (and as someone who just gave birth or may even be a new mom that’s totally understandable!), let us pamper you! We’ve got makeup and hair experts ready to help you get glam. We also have a full client closet for both you and baby to look absolutely stunning and adorable. For you we’ve gathered an array of gorgeous, flowy dresses. For baby, we’ve got all sorts of bows, hats, and swaddling blankets. We always suggest bringing a spare change of clothes in case there’s any accidents – you never know!

In Home Newborn Sessions

Jodi can also make your shoot happen in the comfort of your own home, highlighting your sweet one’s nursery. An in-home session might be for you if you want to tell the story of bringing your little one home, making for nostalgic images to last a lifetime. This is such a special experience full of raw emotion and we want to help you savor this moment in time.
