The bonds that are captured throughout this session melted our hearts, between watching the farm animals and swinging with mom, we are in love with this lifestyle family session. With a lush grassy lawn, our Gilbert farm location allowed this family’s sweet baby girl to explore and let her fun, little personality shine. A rustic tree swing and darling farm animals complete this peaceful location and sure to be one your favorites for years to come.

Creating lasting memories through styled family photo shoots: Why outfits are important for the look of your session

Styling your photography session is so important, from the long flowy dress from ShowPo, to baby’s romper from Zara and little poppy co. bow and Dad’s casual but more neutral outfit. All of these elements make the photos really stand out in the natural elements of the farm location. When thinking about your outfits, we like to have them compliment each other but they don’t need to be matchy-matchy. A nice pop of color, alongside a floral print always makes for a cohesive look. We also highly recommend getting hair and makeup done, for the look at this session mom opted for a whimsical braid paired with a natural look on her makeup by Seventh Ave Beauty. We can add-on hair and makeup to your session.

Hands down, one of our most popular FAQ questions is, “What she we wear to our family photo session?” It is completely understandable to want your family to look their best for your portrait session, it’s a wonderful investment, after all! While there are no rules to personal style, we definitely have a few recommendations when it comes to your family photography! Here are a few pointers to keep in mind for your session:

• Keep in mind the location! If you have selected a natural location for your session, neutral colors, solids, and soft patterns look great. For a more urban location, mix up your look with a bold color or pattern to really pop!
• Make sure YOU feel amazing! It’s important that you feel comfortable and incredible in what you are wearing, that confidence will definitely show in your images.
• Bring a back-up option, sometimes you realize the day, or the moment, of your family photoshoot that you don’t actually like what you are wearing, whoops! That’s okay! Bring an extra option, just in case. J
• Work to coordinate family outfits, instead of matching. It’s so hard to find one look that everyone likes, instead work around 2 or 3 coordinating colors to build your outfits.
