If you asked us which type of kid’s photo session we have the most fun at, it would be a Cake Smash!  First of all, the First Birthday Cake Smash marks a big milestone in a baby’s life!  In some ways that first year goes by quickly and at other times parents can say the days and nights dragged on forever (at least the sleepless ones!).  The arrival of the First Birthday is filled with excitement and joy!  And after photographing them since their newborn session (or their momma’s maternity session) we love getting to spend this time with our one year old client’s because their true personalities are just beginning to show!

At a Photography by Jodi Lynn “First Birthday Cake Smash” Session, we always start with traditional portraits.  We believe in having that perfect portrait of this age which really show how much they have changed and how far they have come from birth to one year old!  After these classic portraits comes the mess!  We save the cake smash for the second half of the session and there is always laughter and sometimes tears (but we promise they’re tears from the laughter!). We love adding your little one’s favorite character or birthday party theme into their session like Miss P’s sweet pink Minnie Mouse outfit that she also wore to her birthday celebration.
